Pequonnock River Bpt 7/14

After cooling off and rehydrating myself at Duchess, I went over to the Wonderland of Ice along the Pequonnock. Had another hour before dark. Fished my 2 most productive spots. Caught 4 redbreasts up to 6" with a glass minnow Husky Jerk HJ-6 at one spot. Hit a rock bass, bluegill, and redbreast at the second stop all on a glass ghost X-Rap XR-4. Those 3 were dinks. Moved down to the lower tidal area along Glenwood Park. Still had the XR-4 on so I played around with it for a bit. Caught 1 dinky bluegill. Switched over to the HJ-6 and caught a yellow, 1 stripers, and 3 whites. The yellow was just under your usual keeper size and the whites and striper were no bigger than 6". Hit the road around 8:30pm. Starting this time of the year when the snappers get more active, baby stripers and whites make it all the way up to Glenwood Park and feed on small minnows. I have had days where I'd get into over 10 combined all on a HJ-6. In my history of fish the Pequonnock along the Wonderland of Ice, redbreast sunfish rule that area unless there's a 2+ pound largemouth around.
