Skitter Pop ROCKS!
Message:
Chris and I hit the incoming at the Reef starting around 7pm Monday. High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 10:20pm.
I started with the MXR-13 that's been working for me at Remington while Chris played around with a Red Fin and Jimmy's swimmer. I hit a sea robin with the MXR-13.
Later as it got closer to sunset, we started seeing peanuts jumping out of the water with the small taylors behind them. I switched over to the chrome Skitter Pop SP-9 while Chris tried throwing 2 other poppers.
First fish on was a sea robin that followed my SP-9. Saw the arh arh right in front of me when I stopped the lure and then just played the lure before it hit it.
Once the sun hit the horizon, the bite picked up. I got into the 1 to 2 pound taylors. Chris wasn't getting into anything until I let him use a silver blue SP-9 I had with me.
For the last 45 minutes we were out there, I caught about 7 blues and chris caught 5. Both of us had as many misses and lost a few. I also caught a 17" schoolie that was feeding with the taylors.
We started heading in around 9pm.
