Bigelow today...

Got up there around 11:45... drove all the way to mashapaug launch, it was kind of quiet when I got there but a bunch of people were launching kayaks.. so I went to the boat launch of bigelow and fished the cove to the left of the launch... waded in about waist deep. Started with a white 2" mister twister grub on a 1/8 oz jig head.. had a fish on the second cast but got caught up in the lilly pads and he shook off.... I believe it was a pickerel, I saw a glimpse of it... I then switched to a top water frog...had a hit on that... but I set the hook too soon I think... continued to fish the area but to no avail....I walked the patch that leads to the other side of the cove, it's sort of a peninsula, fished around that using the white grub and firetiger ssr rapala. I did lose my topwater frog in a marshy area that I thought might produce..it was too deep for me to wade out and retrieve the lure. I then walked back to the boat launch to the handicap dock and watched as the 53,000 pumpkinseeds followed my grub and biting the tail. decided to head back to mashapaug area and now there were people swimming and sunbathing on the concrete boat dock... That was my day.. it was beautiful out...a nice day. Next week I think I'll head up northwest direction.
