Keeper this Time
Message:
After Seaside Park and Bushwick Metal, I hit Duchess for a bite to eat and then went to the Wonderland of Ice around 7pm.
Hit my 2 usual spots there and threw a bleeding pearl F-7. Caught 3 redbreasts with 1 of them being a chubby 6"er that fought well.
Later I went over to the lower tidal section at Glenwood Park. Didn't have that HJ-6 with me this time so stuck with the F-7. Spent about 45 minutes there.
The bite wasn't on like it was a few days ago. I couldn't tell if it was just the difference in the lure I was using or if it was the fish. But I still caught a few fish, with 1 of them being a lower tidal 9" keeper white perch. That was the first time I have caught a keeper white in any other river besides the CT and Housy.
Total was 4 stripers, 6" largemouth, 3" crappie, and 9" white. All stripers were 8 to 10".
Also lost what was either a keeper white, bigger striper, or decent largemouth. It hit the lure right near shore and came off as I was about to pull it out of the water. It all happened within 2 or 3 seconds.
I also had more company this time. Bigger crowd of the green and black crowned night herons and 1 egret.
