89 johnson 6hp trouble, rattling noise?

The engine is making a loud rattle at lower rpms, sounds like its coming from the flywheel, I'm not very familiar with this engine, anyone know if this is a common problem? Flywheel bearing/s possibly? Thanks in advance, -Dan

pop the cover do a quick inspection of all the bolts make sure non have loosened up I would start with that . if you have a hose atachment for the water intake hook it up and run it in neutral see if you can localize the noise
