Silver Lake

Fished Silver Lake last Thursday as I was on vacation for the week from 2:00 until 6:00. Caught my usual quota (32) of Silver Lake schoolies 1-2 lbers using spinnerbait, tube, and t-rigged senko. All from within 2-6 FOW on the outside edges of the weedlines. As I was motoring slow along one edge of the weeds my motor hits something and then stops. Raise the motor up and there is a @%$!! steel cable wrapped around my prop. Possibly leftover from the days they were dredging the lake. Took my shirt off and jumped into the water to untangle the prop. Just ruined a $650.00 stainless steel prop because some idiot forgot to retrieve the cable from the water. That just put a damper on the rest of the day.

32 fish, that is a good day. I fished silver about 6 times this year and caught nothing but 1-2lbers and some small picks. I used to love that lake, but this year it has been disappointing. Nothing over 2lbs. Back in the day, I remember pulling 3-5lbs out of there on a regular basis - I must have been a better fisherman then:) That sux about your prop but it could have been worse (blown motor, damaged hull, injury).

True, it could have been worse good thing I had the motor going slow. It's just money that I could have used to buy more rods & reels on top of the 25 I have now! :D
