Subject:
Pein feild reef when you go to war go prepared lesson learnt
Message:
Altough i am from ny, ive been hearing a lot of talks about the reef so i decided to check it out, got there around 3 pm, when the high tide was slowly dying. I could see a bunch of other anglers on the other side of the reef to the entrance to the beach, so i went on the right end of the jetty, Its like they say when they say when you go to war go armed, that was what i was missing, as i had 25 pound line on my two reels, I started with a spoon and a bunker on one, with the spoon i caught like 4 sea robbins, but the one with the bunker was the one that went crazy, at first i had to say it was atleast a 30 pound fish from the way it was pulling the line and make my reel crack and crunk, than i freaking lost the fish as the line got bite off, So than i decided to the use the leader for blue fish, i kept on loosing them all, I lost atleast 4 of them In the end was when i probably hooked on the biggest fish i have ever hooked, it gave me a good fight, and than tragedy stuck again the freaking line broke and gave me a good cut on my hands, it felt like monster fish, Well after that i decided to give up but next time go there ill make sure to get atleast 40 or 50 pound line, condition of my reel is : it is cranking now after the last fight. all in all had a awesome time.

Man that sounds insane, must be all the bluefish people keep talking about in the 10 to 20lb range! I haven't caught one there at the reef yet, but only been there twice. I would love to try and chunk there but I go out in my waders and can't hold two rods while plugging :(
