Winchester Lake( edit returned 8-26)

This is a late report from last week. I hit up lake winchester. Got there around 7:30. I tried to primarily fish the stumps for most of the day. We seemed to catch mostly smaller bass until I had a nice hit on a jig and it snapped my 30lb braid! Come to find out my new abu garcia spinning real has a slice in the bail so it cut the braid on me. The fish jumped out the water three times after I lost it trying to spit the lure. I really hope he did because he had a bunch of line attached to that jig to get stuck on stuff. After that I calmly put down the rod and switched to a different pole but kept the same jig on there. About 30 mins later I landed this nice 4lb 21.5in largemouth. We packed up around 1 and headed home. This is such a beautiful lake with nice scenery. I knew that I should have thrown a jig, yesterday! Nice fish! :D It's been a couple of years since I've seen a largemouth bass over four pounds come out of Winchester Lake.
