Caught bad fish today!

New here, 1st post.
Just a heads up guys. Woodmont beach: 8lb Bluefish
Housatonic River off of Bic Drive: Snappers and est 4lb Blue
Larger blues: Red dots near tail fin and meat doesn't look normal also they smelled extremely bad. Almost as if they were rotten.
Snappers: insides completely covered with tiny maggot looking worms. Everything looked like the fish died a month ago.
Make sure you guys are inspecting your fish before you even think about eating them. I'll book mark this thread if I get any info I'll post it. Doesn't seem to me like its Mycobacteriosis.

Sounds nasty. You can always call the DEEP for info or to report infected fish as well. They try to track various diseases, sources and locations of fish with high concentrations of disease. NY and CT bluefish have been found with parasitic worms, but I don't know much about the details. Do post if you find more info!

I've been catching blues all summer haven't seen anything like this. But yes I'm calling DEP in the am. I feel bad because one of the blues I caught last night and cleaned it in the dark, meat looks good but because I didn't see anything else I'm gonna play it safe and discard it.
Side note spoke to a friend who caught a good size Striper and he said it was covered in red legions all across the belly. He didn't know what to do at the time so he just released it.
Someone needs to create a gameplan on what to do with these fish. I sure don't know what its doing to the non-infected ones.
