CT River and Mattabassett river 9/21

I hadn't fished in over a week and knew I probably couldn't get out over the weekend. So the only option I had was to skip work. So Friday I decided to take the kayak out and try Wrights cove (Pecauset pond) off the river in Portland The weather was perfect and still overcast when i got there so I thought it would be a pretty productive day. But the bite wasn't all that great and was only able to pick up 2 bass, one on a wacky rig senko and one on a ribbit frog. All the bass were no bigger than the one in the picture. On my way out of the cove I tied on a small rapala and was able to pick up 2 more LMB and a SMB. When I got to the Mattabassett, the water was pretty deep so i tied on a Rapala J-SR5 or 7, not sure which and picked up a smallmouth at the mouth of the Mattabassett I started working my way into the Mattabassett and hooked into a decent pike just short of 30 inches. I fished for about another half hour before i called it quits.

looks like a decent day nice job.....Peco and I where talking about trying the Mattabassett do you know of anyplace I could get my boat into it ...I was told the upstream travel from Ct river is to shallow to do it safely

You can take a right onto grove street in Portland off of Rte 66 and launch. They usually charge boats 15.00 The water did get down to 2 to 3 feet in siome places but it was also almost dead low tide. i don't know of any where else to try and launch around there.
