Mansfeild Hollow 9/30/12

Met up with sbehuniak09 (Steffon) and rmflint (Ryan) at the DD on campus at about 6:00 am and was on the lake shortly after.We where greeted bye cloudy overcast skies and a light 2-3 mhp broken breeze from the N / NE Steffon hit the water fast in his yak and had first fish about the time I was rolling off the trailer. Air temp was in mid 60s water temp was 64-67 deg. depending on area I took reading from . I started off with a buzz bait hopeing for topwater bite Ryan with a swimbait but neather one of us managed a bite as we worked our way around the west shore and bays of the north end of the lake.Nothing was happening and boats started to get thick we decided to head south through the tunnel to south end of the lake. This turned out to be a pretty good idea because everyone else seemed focused on the north end leaveing it all for us, just past the exit of the tunnels I managed my first fish on a wacky senco. [img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17754[/img:cd0b07b086] Whipeing the skunk off me from Highland lake the few days earlyer (thank god) .We work our way around the bank of the south end takeing hits and missing fish for a while manageing 1 here and there [img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17756[/img:cd0b07b086][img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17764[/img:cd0b07b086] About then I got a call from Jjay (Jason) he was just off 84 onto rt 195 heading to the ramp we should see him shortly :D very 8) and we kept on fishin. We drifted around working different baits the bite was very slow I took a bottom hit from something that bit me of allmost instantly toothy what ever it was By now 1.5 hours had pasted and no Jason so we dropped him a call to check if there was a problem he was just leaveing the ramp seems he got caught up in a traffic jam caused bye a event at Uconn and the construction in area that limited travel magor bummer (what a waste of fishing time) :x Steffon had caught up with us pulled one off the bank right near us [img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17758[/img:cd0b07b086][img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17760[/img:cd0b07b086] About then he had mentioned his time was up and it was time to head back to school to finish up some work for next day . He pushed it for a little while longer then waved goodbye and headed up the lake , shortly after that we got a call from Peco ( Phil) askin about our luck a look up the lake revealed him comeing in our direction rideing the other woman 8).The weather broke into beautiful blue skys with big puffy clouds fishing continued. [img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17762[/img:cd0b07b086][img:cd0b07b086]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=17766[/img:cd0b07b086] the rest of the day was full of freinds fun and fish till around 3:30 or so when a deep rummble came rolling in from the south that started us watching the skies we pushed our luck for a bit longer till we new for sure we couldnt duck the storm Phil passed us mentioning he was heading for the ramp we decided it was time for us as well ,so I headed over to Jason and prepared to take his boat in tow. Ryan remeined us theres allway time for 1 more fish. Thanks guys for a nice day out. Wish I could have stayed longer! Also nice meeting Bob and Phil. Hope to see you guys again soon!
