Yak fishing after work,..10/8

With the "get it while you can.." mentality firmly planted in my brain,..I took off work a lttle early and made a beeline for the water yestarday afternoon. Got out for exactly 2 hours at slack high tide progressing into the beginning of outgoing before it got too dark. Perfect overcast conditions with a very slight breeze and almost glassy water. Things began pretty slow and the fish seemed to want nothing to do with a Hogy soft plastic for the first 45 minutes or so. But then I switched it up to a bucktail and immeditely got bit on the first cast before it even hit the bottom,...a 20-something schoolie,..good deal, no skunk!. Then I got another one about the same size a few casts later and I began to think that all the decent fish had left! I moved around a little more and picked up a 30 incher which made me feel a little better about things. As the water began to move with the incoming tide the action got hot!! I got a 36, then a 40 after that,...at this point, the water was moving fast enough to make it difficult to keep my bucktail near the bottom without constantly snagging the rocks so i switched back to a Hogy (which sort of glides down softly rather than plowing into the bottom structure...) and I managed to pick up a nice 42 incher. I started thinking that it was time to go but I really wanted one more fish. As soon as I thought that, I stopped getting bit for a while and figured that maybe the window had closed,..but then finally, on what I had decided was [b:8b07a7d060]definitely[/b:8b07a7d060] my last cast,..i got another nice one that went 41 inches and it made me quite content to call it an evening!!
