Twin Brooks Park 10/10 & 10/11
Message:
On Saturday I hit Twin Brooks Park starting around 12pm. First stop was the southern end of the pond with the gazebo. Played topwater with the purpledescent Shallow Shad Rap SSR-7 but never got a single swirl or hit. Checked out a few other areas with some of my usual lures, including a firetiger Original Floater F-7, but never got into anything. Was surprised to not get a yellow follow or hit the F-7. Later I hit my November hot spot. Landed an 11" bass and lost 2 pickerel. Nothing happened at the small hidden pond and never had a follower or hit at the bend along the Pequonnock. Hit the road around 3pm and headed for the Wonderland of Ice. Sunday I hit Twin Brooks again starting around 2pm. Started off by looking for worms so I could try and get into some suckers. Never found any worms. Gave the pond in the cirlce a few tries with the SSR-7 and had 2 fish come for the lure but they never hit it. Went over to my November hot spot and did the topwater again but never had a single swirl or hit. Hit the road around 3:45pm Last weekend I was into the topwater pickerel and a few largemouths but it seems like the snow outdid them, esp with how much colder the water temp has gotten.

The fishing was tough. I won't be home for a while and can't post photos from my iPhone, but I got a couple of black crappie and a chunky northern pike. It was a nice day to be out on the water, though, for sure.

Maybe your problem was you went to your November hotspots in October ;)
