Hit a few places...

Got out of work Friday and headed to Mt. Tom. Lots of black ice on the state park side, maybe 2-3 inches. The white stuff looked better, and there was a group fishing to the south and a single guy fishing up in the corner. I didn't want to figure how they got there and guess wrong, so I went to north shore Bantam. 5 inches of hard white, fished anywhere from 5 to 15 feet along the campsite point. Windy, blue sky, no flags. Went to Highland Sunday morning with more luck. Same thing as Mt. Tom, where it was white, there was 5-6 inches, where it was black, maybe three. Luckily there was far more white than black. Made the long walk to the second bay till where the ice looked iffy, buddy and I were in good water, but same blue bird weather as earlier. No action till about 10:30 am when we had about 6 flags in maybe a half hour. Results were two pickerel and a 15" brown and a nice fat keeper brown over 17". Fished the rest of the day hoping for another flurry, but only got maybe two more small pickerel. Weather was nice for a day on the ice, but if it stays like this, who knows about next weekend.
