Up again in Ashley Falls, MA today looking for a followon from the biggun I got yesterday. I was not dissapointed! Again, fishing with a 4" Yum Dinger my second cast yielded this oddity: [img:8e8c94c17b]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2282[/img:8e8c94c17b] I had never caught a sizeable largie before from the river, so this was a bit of a suprise, and I gotta admit, less fun than the smallmouth, but I was not disappointed and was soon rewarded with this guy: [img:8e8c94c17b]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2284[/img:8e8c94c17b] All smallmouth came on a Baby Torpedo in largemouth bass coloration along a rock embankment. The slow retrieve with pauses was working best, and I had a few smallies at least that size throw the torpedo on a jump. It was interesting, a slow retrieve was knocked by the fish so lightly I thought they were tiny rock bass or something, then *WHAM* they'd nail it and go straight outta the water about 2 or 3x their length. MAN they're a blast. I gotta take down my ultralight reel and oil it tonight because it's starting to bind up from them. All in all another great day!

Awesome job sevnseat. Baby torpedos are one of my favorite top-water baits. Gotta love those explosive surface strikes especially from smallies!
