Put the Time in Before March

December and this month were very much like what forecasters were predicting as for temps and jet stream pattern back in early December. At that time they were talking about the cold air that's currently locked in the West to head our way just as February rolls around. Earlier I looked at the 3 month outlook as for temps and jet stream pattern. Forecasters are still sticking with what they said back in early December. The low pressure currently in the Canadian Maritimes will stay there for a while as a Greenland Block builds. But then we see a whole new ballgame in March. March is when temps warm back up rapidly and stay warm. As for snow, we'll be getting the edge of lake effect snows and also the possibility of a February Nor'easter. Other than that, there will be a few other quick dustings. So starting this coming weekend and lasting for another 5 weeks will be the time to do the ice fishing before we get the big ice out in early March.
