Went to Burr pond for some jigging this morning. Really cold out there.....jigged up a couple sunfish in an hour and a half and left. Also had something snap my 2# test. I'm thinking it was a pickeral. There were a bunch of small ones laying out frozen on the ice. Apparently someone doesn't like them. About 9" of ice.

A guy on tyler lake the other time i went told me theres a bird i think he said a red tail hawk or something more rare/unseen in ct that is there every year so he asks fisherman to take a small pickerel and throw it on the ice for the bird when it comes by. They wanna keep him there so he asks for that little favor and he said there are tons of pickerel in tyler lake so its helping the sunfish population in a way. Im guessing thats what they wre doing on burr.

You can rationalize it all that you want, but ice fishermen who throw chain pickerel onto the ice and leave them are just being wasteful. The worst example of this that I've seen was at West Hill Pond. I suspect that the trout and kokanee salmon fishermen there think they're helping their preferred species to thrive. I think that they're idiots.
Wow! A "there" "they're" "their" sentence!
