I am in eastern ct and i have taken my son out twice and skunked both times. i have ice fished for many years but havent been able to get out for a few years. I remember getting so excited and hooked as a kid when the flags started poping. I know its not all about catching fish but i dont want my little buddy to get skunked anymore. anyone know of any spots like avery pond or wyasup lake where there is some good action? trophies not required. thanks in advance.

Most the the fishermen on here seem to be from the central or western part of the state. For me, it's usually a special occasion when I head out that way. The fishing must be terrific in the east with the lack of fishing pressure.
