Staffordville Lake
Message:
I took a trip to Staffordville Lake today. Only saw 1 guy comming off the slush/ice. He said it has been real slow. I tried it...set up 2 tipups, and jigged..after 2 hours of only 1 flag I called it a day. About 5 or 6 inches of slush and about 8 to 10 inches of black ice underneath....no parking anywhere...found a spot on the side of the road big enough for 2 cars. Not much time left to icefish....if you wanna go...you better get out there soon..its melting fast.... :(

I live on this lake and fish it very often. Not a SINGLE fish through the ice this year in about 30hrs of solid fishing. Tried all different depths of water and spots, very odd. In the summer this place lights up with quality bass.
Went out today for a walk, only went out about 20 ft but it was 4" of punky ice, 1" of black ice... not good. Not sure if it was just close to shore but I didn't have the confidence to go out much further.
There is technically no public access, but if you go on the weekend its easy to park in the school and walk onto the ice. During the summer no such luck.
