ice fishing first for me!!!!!

So there i was on crystal lake today. Decided to go check the traps for dead minnows and found one. Set the minnow back in the hole and the tipup on the ice. Next thing i know as im headed to get the bait bucket, i hear a buzzing and turn around to see my rig cruising down the ice! Thats when i notice a seagull had grabbed the minnow out of the hole and flown off with it. After ichased down my rig, i wasnt quite sure what to do. Obviously i had to cut the line but didnt want him to have to fly with 150ft of line behind him. I swear it was like pulling in a kite! Finally he landed on the ice and i was able to get close enough to him to cut the line as close as possible to him. i ended up getting about 3ft before the line snapped and he flew off. Not a bad day though. No fish but i did get a 2+ lb seagull....... afterwords i shook my head and could not believe that had just happened.
