registration without title/HIN

so i just got a 10' jon boat and a friend of my fathers says he has a little 2hp outboard he's gunna sell me for 150 bucks, i did a little research on registering the boat tho and because its older it has no serial number/title/HIN/bill of sale, so according to what i read online i think when i go to register it i have to tell them it's "homemade" or something like that. does that sound right?

This is what I filled out for my canoe. I think it's what you need. No hull plate on the transom? CT is a pain in the rear. Didn't think I'd have to register a 25 year old aluminum canoe just so I could use a trolling motor.

Thanks RNA, and no i couldnt find a number anywhere on the boat :? i'll double check tomorrow tho just to be sure.
