White perch in New Haven area?

Hey. I know that there's a perch run in the New Haven area. Up the Mill River and the mouth of the West River I've been told are good areas. Just curious if anyone has any clue on when they start showing up in these parts. Thanks

I snagged a good size 1 almost 2 weeks ago in the Housy in Derby.
Edit, never mind, I git confused as it was a Shad I snagged the other day and not a Perch!

White perch stay in lower freshwater tidal rivers year round but get more active in open water coves and estuaries in mid and late March
