Housatonic River Sunnyside South to the Dump
Message:
Hit the river Monday on Al T's boat, 5 other boats around and was slow fishing for all. The usual stack of schoolies on the fishfinder, 42 degrees, at slack tide with light wind. Managed to get a couple fish in the boat using a dark/light grey keitech rubber bait w/3/4oz jig head and Al got a few on an alabama rig in white weighted which usualy knocks it out of the park. Wind picked up out of the South and incoming tide made it hard to hook up. The fish were suspended so they are becoming more active but lockjaw didn't help.

I've found that suspending schoolie stripers are less willing to take a jig than those on the bottom. I'm sorry to hear that they went finicky on you. Thanks for the report.
Did you launch at the Sunnyside Boat Launch Facility in Shelton? If so, was anyone there checking for permits? Even if not, you'll need one soon:
