Stalled Front....Low Pressure....Thunderstorms later

Wednesday morning I got a few texts from fishing buddy CTFT member mikeyinstfd saying he was at the ice out pond getting great action. I decided to get out of bed and hit the road. Arrived at the ice out pond around 1:30pm to find Mike there. He had already caught 13 bass up to 2 1/2 pounds all on a shaky head worm. We fished together for a while until he left and I stayed. I did 3 laps around the pond hitting all open areas. Tried throwing a yellow perch Husky Jerk HJ-6 but wasn't having any luck. Switched over to a 4" Texas rigged pumpkinseed Berkley Power Worm and found that to be the big hit. Landed a total of 8 largemouths and lost a number. Bass were all chubby ranging from 10" to 14" all weighing around a pound. Also got a keeper bluegill. Later I headed over to the private lake to find many bluegills shallow and bass stacked up where a brook feeds in. I started off with the trusty Jointed Shad Rap but never had any luck. Then switched over to the yellow perch HJ-6 and did a 2 to 6 jerks and pause retrieve. That had them interested but decided to see what a constant jerking would do. That had the bass going nuts! Between the yellow perch HJ-6 and a brown trout Flat Rap FLR-6 I landed 7 largemouths around the same size as the ones I got at the ice out pond all by doing a constant jerking retrieve. Later the lady who originally gave me permission to fish there told me I couldn't fish there anymore. She let me stay for the rest of the day. Didn't say why but remember last year hearing from a buddy that she told him I was fishing there too often when March and April are the only months I fish heavily there. As I stayed fishing bass weren't going for the constant jerking anymore as if I had caught all the ones that were hanging out in that spot so I went to the deeper area. When I got to the deeper area I find schools of yellows cruising the shore and a number of bass and bluegills. Fish weren't interested in much in that area but caught 3 bullgills and 2 bass with the HJ-6. Biggest bass was 15" 1 pound 13 ounce. Yellow perch kept following the HJ-6 while doing a few twitches before pausing but they'd hardly ever hit it. Hit the road around 7pm to later be stuck inside Duchess during a thunderstorm until a ride arrived. Combination of a stalled front, waves of low pressure, and evening thunderstorms had the bass going strong!

Best Day fishing I've had in a long time. Finished up with 15 bass all on a watermelon colored Berkley power worm on a shaky head jig. Most of the fish were 1lb or more but 2 little dinks thrown in. Largest was about 2.5lbs.
