Pequnnock River Trumbull
Message:
Sunday I headed out to the Pequonnock River in Trumbull. Arrived around 12pm to find trout stacked up in 1 area. 3 fishermen were already there hitting them. I tried throwing a few Rapalas but had no luck except for a few swipes. Then I switched over to a hook and split shot and found some corn on the ground. Casted the corn to the side of the fish and carefully twitched it very lightly on the bottom near them with 3 second pauses. That had them going. Landed 3 brookies with 1 released. Once there was no corn left on the ground I did some digging and found a large grub. Had a few hits with it and landed a 7" bluegill. Last bait was yellow corn Berkley Garlic Scented Power Bait. Had a number of hits and landed a rainbow. Lost 1 other trout. Later around 3:30pm I headed over to Twin Brooks Park because the trout bite died.
