Dead Fish at Day Pond

I took my kids to Day Pond on saturday... fishing was alright. I got a nice trout, which I admired and carefully put back, watching him swim away on his own.
I'm phrasing it all like that becuase when we got there, we picked out a table to put our stuff on, when my daughter ( 8 ) yelled. I looked below the table and there were 5 trout, 6 or so inches, dead and dried up under the table! Who would catch these and then ditch them under a table to die?! I understand if you plan on taking them home and having dinner, but why under the table?!?! Why not in a cooler?!?!?!?! I don't get people. :x What a waste....
Sorry for the vent, but I got really pissed when I saw that... and simmered the whole time I was there.

Maybe someone thinks that "under the table" is an "alternative method" of catch and release. :lol:
