CT River 5/6/13

It was such a nice day, i knew it was time to skip work and take a half day. I decided to take the kayak down to the Ct river in Portland and try Wrights cove I had a rapala husky jerk tied on so I tried that and it didn't take me long to hook into a decent 16 and half inch bass. [img:423f86b9df]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=20138[/img:423f86b9df] I was going to stick with the rapala but kept getting hung up on weeds so I went to an orange buzz bait and was able to hook into another bass [img:423f86b9df]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=20135[/img:423f86b9df] I then went to a green and orange frog popper I had and just before I was ready to take it off and try something else, i hooked into an 18 inch bass [img:423f86b9df]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=20132[/img:423f86b9df] After that, I had a problem keeping fish on the hook and lost at least 4 including a nice sized bass and what looked like a bowfin. I started fishing at 2:30 and stopped around 5:30. Good to see the fish hitting the top water stuff.

I think it's called Portland Boat Works. I take Grove street off of Rte 66 and it's at the end down on the left. They charge 5.00 for a kayak.
