Lower Bolton 5/6

I didn't get any fishing in on the weekend so I decided that it was about time to go again. I headed to Lower Bolton Lake around 7, and at my spot it was only me and some nice middle aged guy who told me he caught a 4 pound bass 20 minutes earlier. Then, on my second cast, I let the bait sink, reeled in the slack, and had just put my rod down when it immediately doubled over and started bouncing like crazy. I set the hook and a pretty good fight ensued. It was a channel cat that weighed exactly 2 pounds, and was about 20 inches long. Not huge, but the biggest of the year so far for me! Many of them must have been in the traps that were set up to gauge their population in the lake. I did catch 3 yellow bullhead, however. Not a bad day!
