Twin Brooks Park 5/12
Message:
Woke up early Sunday and had plans with relatives later in the day so I decided to head up to Twin Brooks Park right after the last shower of the day left the area. Arrived at the destination at 10:22am. Hit all the ponds and a number of areas. Lures I played with included perch Rebel Pop-R, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, custom painted purple nurple X-Rap Shad Shallow XRSH-6, custom painted red tiger Jointed J-7, brown trout Jointed J-7, custom painted sunset tiger Shallow Shad Rap SSR-7, pearl grey shiner Clackin Crank CNC-53, and yellow perch Husky Jerk HJ-6. At one spot at the pond by the gazebo I had a bass look at the Pop-R and follow it but turned back once I got the lure closer to shore. Had what seemed to be a trout hit the red tiger J-7 after seeing a brownish flash where a brook feeds in and the upper pond on the right, Lost a largemouth with the red tiger J-7 at a spot at the main pond. Would have been the lunker of the day looking to be at least 2 pounds. It was acrobatic. Beat the skunk by catching a 17" pickerel down by my November hot spot with the Pop-R. Also checked out the bend of the Pequonnock there and saw a nice largemouth but it would scare a lot. Hit the road just after 2:30pm.
