Got to the launch at 5:30, first time out this year for me. I knew there was a tourney going on so I wanted to get there before they all did. Hit Echo Bay with a Rapala Shad rap. Picked up 4 bass between 2 and 3 pounds then pulled in 2 browns about 14 inches. They all went back in the drink to be caught another day. I'm not a trout person anyway. Continued on and caught 2 more smaller bass about 13" while I was trying to fill the cooler with some yellow perch to fillet. Ended up going home with 7 nice size yellows. By 9am the wind had picked up so much there were white caps and I could not keep the boat straight or my hat on my head and the wind was making it cold so I called it a day. Not a bad day though. I did take some pics but I don't see an upload button on here. I guess like Wanna Fish kind of said, ya seen one fish......

Nice day! You could almost set your watch to the wind. I tried the Scatter Rap Shad when I caught a LM and saw a alewives tail in it's gullet. Didn't get one bite but had a few followers. Went back to Whacky Rigging a Green Pumpkin w/red flake. Besides the early top water bite the whacky rig was the only thing working for me. I know by noon I was having a difficult time with the 75lb thrust on the Skeet. Had to set it to 4 just to keep me away from shore. I moved up wind and let the wind do the work and push me along the shore. It was moving us at a pretty good pace.
