First One EVER!!!!!
Message:
After getting home from fishing with Genna, I relaxed for a bit and then decided to head back down to Remington to catch the turn of the tide. Low for Bridgeport was scheduled for 12:04pm and got to the sandbar around 12:45pm. Setup was the same one that landed me the 32" keeper.
Lures I played with were purpledescent Clackin Minnow CNM-9, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, mullet Saltwater Skitter Pop SSP-9, silver blue Skitter Pop SP-9, flake ayu Max Rap MXR-13, pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, original pearl shad FLR-10, and shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9.
While I was out there I saw a kayaker set the hook while throwing a bucktail. I was throwing a FLR-10 at the time and not getting anything so I decided to go deeper with the CNM-9. Pretty soon set the hook and landed my very first weakfish!!!!
Casted the CNM-9 back out there and set the hook again before the line snapped.
After cutting some line and testing knot strength, I switched over to the SXR-10. That caught me another 5 weakfish and lost 1. Had many hits too!
The bite eventually died and never got anymore hits on any of the Rapalas that dive deeper.
As I walked back to shore I was casting with one of the FLR-10 and had a hard hit and saw a small striper follow on 2 separate casts.
Threw the SSP-9 in the flats to see if any stripers were around and caught a chubby 24"er and had a tail swipe.
Hit the road around 4:30pm.
All weakfish were keeper sizes and kept my limit of 1. Smallest was 22" and biggest was 28". All gave a great fight on the 7' MH Daiwa Procyon Penn Sargus 4000 setup, which was the same setup I landed the 32" keeper on.

Nice! I've seen reports in OTW that they seem to have returned to CT/RI in decent numbers.
