Gave it a Shot
Message:
Low tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 2:44pm Tuesday and arrived at the sandbar at 2:14pm. Setup was the Daiwa/Penn again.
Lures I played around with included pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, moss back shiner Clackin Minnow CNM-9, mullet Saltwater Skitter Pop SSP-9, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, and glass ghost Clackin Minnow CNM-11.
Lost a bluefish and weakfish with the FLR-10.
As the tide started getting higher, small blitzes started and bunker were also breaking the surface. I tried throwing the SSP-9, SXR-10, and FLR-10 out there into the schools a number of times but never had any hits. A fisherman out there was throwing soft plastics and got a few hits in those schools but no signs of teeth marks, just the lure a bit loose off of the jighead. Never saw or smelled any oils or blood from bait. Probably stripers.
As I made my way back in I was doing a slashbait retrieve with the CNM-9 and lost 2 fish pretty soon. Had a feeling they might have been bunker that I foul hooked because the bunker were splashing.
Hit the road around 5:15pm.
BTW- Discharge wasn't running which means there was no extra current or warmer waters.
