Springfield area fishing, ludlow res and five mile pond

Stayed local today and decided to do some fishing around town, went to ludlow reservoir which usually a hot spot for bass and only ended up with a 20 inch pickerel for about 3 or 4 hours of fishing from shore. I left there and wen home to get boat and fished five mile pond and at first was having no success until I saw a couple people trolling spoons and catching fish so I decided to tie on a sunfish pattern rapala that dove about 5-6 feet and caught 3 pickerel, 3 trout, and a crappie. I lost a lot more trout, they were really hammering it.
