I usually don't solicit this kinda thing, but its for a good cause.
Guy I work with is doing a walk for child diabetes.
I don't have it, but at the rate I eat chocolate doughnuts it won't be long...

Support Aaron McAndrew in the 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes
I am pleased to announce that on October 14th, I'll be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes as a member of Jessie's Angels in Queens, New York. Along with a half-million other walkers across the country will be walking to help raise funds for JRDF. Our goal: To raise $100 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. In 2006, Jessie's Angels raised $18,000 and we hope to surpass that this year with your help.
Our team Captain, Jessica "Jessie" Miller was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 3. Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people--a large and growing percentage of them children.
Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.
The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.
At the age of 13, Jessie enjoys shopping, snowboarding, taking hip-hop dance classes, being a member of her school Twirl team and making her family and close friends as crazy as any other teenager should. Thanks to modern technology Jessie is able monitor and administer her insulin on the go with the assistance of her portable insulin pump.
I'm writing to ask for your support because now more than ever, EACH of us can be a part of bringing about a cure. I am convinced that we can make a real difference. There is no donation too small. If 100 people donated $5 that would be $500 closer to reaching our goal in helping JDRF find a cure.
Together, we can make the cure a reality. Please pass this email along to anyone and everyone you know. You'd be surprised how many families are affected by a form of Diabetes. I know I was when we started this venture last year.
Thank you,
Aaron McAndrew
