Subject:
SnowGoose 2 Fluking.
Message:
Hi there fluke fans...
Well I finally made the trek to the SnowGoose2 over in Port Chester,NY. yesterday.
I'll have to say first off that the boat looks a lot bigger on their website, but still had plenty of room considering it was filled to capacity.
Now on to the fishing. Started off slow untill I get a nice smack & lost what ever it was, but a gent next to me "Tony" gets a keeper fluke about 1 minute after I lost my hit. All day action, unfortunately for me it mostly sea robins but BIG ones. I ended up with only 1 short fluke & countless sea robins, Tony had about 5 fluke 2 being keepers my neighbor JB only got 1 short fluke & a mess of sea robins. Pool winner a nice 6lb. fluke caught by a kid about 11-12 years old, you can see it on their website in the reports forum.
www.snowgoose2.com
Over all a fun day & I will go back to them, on a side note; I started off with a chartreuse skirt getting only 1 robin, took it off & used just a plain 4/0 circle hook & then the bites picked up. So that kinda adds fuel to the fire reguarding my other post about mono/braid skirt colors etc...
Until next time...
John.

I never noticed til someone pointed it out to me, green colors seem to pull in a lot of skates while fluke fishing. I like to stick to mostly whites and pinks. Occasionally other colors depending on the forage.

I'm still waiting for my first fluke of the year. Have caught every other surfcasting fish so far.
