Subject:
Milford - sea of sea robins
Message:
I headed down to Milford last night for the high tide. Fishing has been pretty slow there the past couple of weeks but it hasn't discouraged me.
The night started off slow but then it started heating up....for the sea robins. One after another I couldn't even put my pole down after casting it out before they would hit my bait. They were hitting bunker, squid, and my SP Minnow.
Halfway through the night a couple of Asian guys started fishing next to me. They didn't speak English very well and were wondering what I was using for bait. I gave them some pointers and helped them out a bit with what to use and how to prepare the sea robin. I gave them all the sea robins I caught for the rest of the night and it was like I gave them a million bucks. It's good to see the sea robins coming in useful for someone !
As the tide started heading back out the taylor blues started coming around. Caught a couple of them on squid but nothing of size. At least they're still always a fun fight!
This is the biggest sea robin of the night and possibly the biggest one I've ever caught.
