Member GKolyagin (aka Genna) and I hit the rest of the outgoing at the Reef Thursday evening. Low tide for Black Rock was scheduled for 8:20pm. Conditions were light rain with winds ranging from the north to the northeast gusting up to 15 mph. Bridgeport Harbor buoy read 73.6 degree water temp. Norwalk side was nice while the Bridgeport side was rough.
Genna threw a combination of pencil poppers, SP Minnows, and bucktails. His bucktails were rigged with small eels.
Rapalas I played with included smelt BX Minnow BXM-10, original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, custom painted Max Rap MXR-11, moss back shiner Clackin Minnow CNM-9, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, bleeding pearl Jointed J-11, and flake ayu Max Rap MXR-15. Also threw a Storm Jointed Minnow Stick.
Genna and I were into sea robins. Other surf fishermen were reporting mostly sea robins with a few short fluke.
The Rapala that had sea robins more interested was the BXM-10. The FLR-10 was another.
On the Bridgeport side I lost what was either a porgy or small snapper. Constant tight head shaking. That was with the BXM-10.
We hit the road at slack tide.

Was that you that asked what it was like farther out?
If so, nice to meet you. 2 short fluke and more robins than I could count, on a small Hopkins. Nothing seemed to like my poppers, or swimmers though. I need to pick up some lighter bucktails.
