another good day on lilli
Message:
for those folks who fish lilli WE all know how unpredictable the body of water can be! and you can have a real bad day in the blink of an eye -- EXCEPT THIS YEAR! we have been doing mighty fine all season - the spring was great and the summer while NOT TO MANY hawks has been just as good! i hit the lake at around 2 today the boat traffic was not to bad and the fish were on again! i headed to the dam and drifted the left side in the shade and deep water caught a bunch of smallies AGAIN nothing gigantic all between 13 and 16 inches -- but this time of year they jump and on light line are a handful and a lot of fun black and blue tube black senko with chart flakes and gold minnow kietechs 6lb and 8lb test line test kept the boat in 28 feet and threw to the shore or outside weed edges i picked my son up at 4:30 (LOL) he won't go near the place till the BOATERS start to head home! we headed back to the dam and we drifted the right side AGAIN same baits and plenty of fish including a couple of 19 inch smallies this time! JUST a lot of fun and an occasional boat was all we saw! THE ONLY thing that kinda sucked was we were hoping for a GREAT top water night and that just did not happen -- BUT ALL in ALL another good day on lilli! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT - Sunday we hit the evening bite at squantz - i have not been there since the spring "I HOPE I DON'T REGRET not going back to Lilli!

Nice! I love Lilly. It's a challenging river. The top water bite, to me has been off this year. Last night on Candy, with all the Alewives feeding in the bays I would have thought the my Bone Spook would have had some action. Most fish were caught on dark colors after dusk. I was cleaning up the boat today and putting my gear and lures back when I came across some shad/alewives lures I forgot about. Dah! I have way to much stuff. My boats a floating tackle store. Nice report.
