Lower Bolton Lake, Fri 8/2/13
Message:
Got a rare chance to go fishing with some good friends up in Manchester, and we decided to hit up Lower Bolton Lake around 6pm.
The conditions were ideal with a westerly breeze which kept the "skeeters" away until later on.
There were several yakers on the water along with a bunch of folks frolicking about.
We fished beyond the damn, on the concrete ground area. Baits of choice were wacky 3 inch senkos and nightcrawlers.
The fishing action was strong from the beginning with all 5 of us catching smb's, pickerel and cats.
Nothing of great size but the quantity was certainly there.
We stayed until 0030, and on our way up the rocks, I put my right leg up on the concrete wall, with the intention of giving myself a boost up. Instead my leg slipped out from underneath me and I landed 3 feet below on the jagged rocks. Fortunately I ensured that I didn't rock my head backward upon the landing, and my back took the brunt of the fall. No more than a few scrapes.
We also saw a large northern watersnake with a catfish in its mouth. It was quite ominous looking but after researching the species, they are not poisonous.

Glad you did well, and glad you didn't get hurt with the fall, those rocks are treachourous.
