The day prior to going with my grandfather to the Housy.I decided to gather some fresh bait since there really hasn't been any in the area. I did some fly-fishing at the Pequabuck river to gather some Fallfish for chunking.I caught well over 2 dozen but kept 19 for bait.[img:08acee94a2]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21557[/img:08acee94a2] It was a beautiful pre-storm morning.[img:08acee94a2]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21553[/img:08acee94a2] We headed down river to rockpile #7[img:08acee94a2]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21555[/img:08acee94a2] Low tide was due in an hour so we tried to make the best of it.As soon as i let out the ole perriwinkle and closed the bail.WHAM!I thought i was snagged on the bottom as wire line peeled of the reel. After a tough battle i boated a nice blue.11.7 lber. After 2 more passes by the rock pile we had a double header in which we both lost. They felt like BIGGIE'S as well. With no action after 6 more passes,we headed up river to chunk fish.As we anchored for a while we had no runoffs with the Fallfish.Other than a couple of small blue crabs that feel off at the side of the boat. The sky began to get dark and the wind picked up so we decided to call it and get off the water before the storm came in. No sooner than we unloaded,in came a fierce rain and wind.I guess we'll save the Fallfish for another trip.Headed home by 10 am. Here is a picture of the blue.[img:08acee94a2]http://www.ctfishtalk.com/gallery2.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=21559[/img:08acee94a2]

I never though about using fallfish to chunk with. Are they more for blues or do stripers eat them as well?
