Sea Robin Mania

High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 6:02pm and got to Breezy Point around 4pm. Skies were overcast and winds were a steady light breeze out of the north and east with an occasional 10 mph gust. Lures I tried throwing included silver blue Husky Jerk HJ-12, flake blue Max Rap MXR-13, original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, smelt BX Minnow BXM-10, moss back shiner Clackin Minnow CNM-9, olive green CNM-9, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, and blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10. The SXR-10 had sea robins going crazy! I landed a total of 10 and lost 1 all on the SXR-10. Fluke would occasionally follow the lure too. Also landed a sea robin on the FLR-10 and lost one on the SSR-9. Once tide got to peak high, things slowed down even though I got a few of those sea robins. After sunset I went to the discharge to see if anything was going on in there. Fishermen were just leaving telling me that they were getting porgy and small stripers with one of the small stripers getting chopped in half by a big blue. I threw the SXR-10 out there and also played with a chrome Skitter Pop SP-9 but never had a tap. Hit the road around 7:45pm
