Stillwater Pond (Torrington) 12/29
Message:
Took my bro-in-law out for his first time on the ice (and my second). Ice was about 6" thick. There were a few others out there.... but maybe 3 other groups. We fished minnows on tip-ups and did some jigging with various jigs for a while too. Fished from about 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Only caught one perch and a 13" or so LMB. It was a nice time out today though being almost 50 degrees out! I need to get a gas auger and move around a lot more in the near future. The hand auger I had was so tedious to use, We only moved one time.

good job getting out guys, thanks for posting and sharing ice conditions gas augers can be a pain when it comes to jigging, lugging their weight around the lake out weighs their drilling capability when comparing to a good 6 or 7 inch hand auger, that is unless you get a nils*
