DEAD vs Wednesday
Message:
Friday afternoon I decided to stay home for a bit as I kept an eye on the Bridgeport Harbor buoy and NWS marine forecast. Winds were ranging from west to north with gust up to 20 mph and steady 5 to 10 mph winds. Seeing winds were starting to diminish later in the afternoon I headed down to Seaside.
First stop around 2:45pm was the city boat ramp. Tried throwing the SP-9 and FLR-10 but nada.
Headed over to the Fayerweather jetty and worked both sides with the beach side being the primary. Caught a sea robin with the FLR-10 and later got the original pearl shad FLR-10 stuck on a rock as the tide started heading out. Saw 1 other surfcaster throwing something like a Chrystal Minnow but only landed 1 sea robin.
Once it was 5pm I headed back over to the boat ramp hoping for the sunset schoolie bite. As time went on, 2 surfcasters from Wednesday arrived with their topwaters. Between the 3 of us, I got 2 explosions and 1 swirl; 4" pencil popper got 1 huge explosion; and smaller Creek Chub got 1 explosion landing the only schoolie.
The other surfcasters tried throwing different colors on pencil poppers and even some smaller lures such as a Heddon Pop'n Image but never had anymore luck.
I hit the road around 6:30pm.

It sure was. I didn't bother heading out today after reading the hourly marine forecast for Black Rock Harbor. NWS was predicting winds to stay strong and gusty throughout the evening vs yesterday.
