Pike Time

The bunker are moving out of the CT River, and the RI coast is now really hit or miss, so November/December are pike season for me. Went out for a quick trip yesterday and landed a pair + some pickerel. Biggest was under 30". Just dehooked them in the water and sent them on their way with an agreement to meet up a few more years down the road. Still, it's a start with a lot of pike trips to come! Pike both hit a 5" Sebile Magic Swimmer in natural shiner. Had live lines out as well. That's really sweet. I've been thinking of getting a Magic Swimmer in the Golden Shiner pattern. I once saw a golden shiner suspending in Hamburg Cove, so they must be a fairly common forage fish on the lower Connecticut River.
