More Like April Today

Low tide for Black Rock Harbor was scheduled for 5:58pm and NWS was calling for light winds with overcast skies, mild temps, and moist air. Got to the boat ramp around 1:45pm to find water like glass with a light wind ranging from the west to the north. Started with the FLR-10 but didn't get any hits. Switched over to a SP-9 and landed a 14" schoolie. Nothing else hit the SP-9 so I went back to the FLR-10 which resulted in another 2 schoolies and lost 1. Later as the tide got lower and the bite died I decided to check out the pilings along the jetty. Caught another schoolie on the SP-9 in 1 area. Seeing it was 4:10pm I decided to head back over to the ramp for the sunset schoolie bite. Started with the SP-9 before switching back over to the FLR-10. As it got darker out and thick fog rolled in, I started seeing and hearing splashes scattered around the area. That's when I got into a bite. Every 5 or so casts I'd get a hit or land a schoolie. Total was 3 more up to a 19" fish just over 3 pounds. It gave me a good tug on the setup and even took a bit of line out. Once tide was getting close to dead low things died. Hit the road around 5:30pm. Weather conditions and the evening action seemed more like it was April.
