First Deer

After 3 years of learning to hunt deer and a bunch of close calls this year, I finally put one down this morning. I walked into some private property I have with my climbing stand early this morning. It was still too dark to see but when I got to the tree I was going to climb I heard a deer stomping and snorting at me. I sat at the base of the tree hoping it would stay around until it got light out but eventually I saw a glimps of if walking away. I quickly went up the tree since it was already starting to get light out and I knew the deer were gonna be moving. By now it was light out so I his my call twice and within 2 minutes I heard this doe walking towards me. It took about 20 minutes before she gave me a shot. I shot 20 yards from a half crouching position through a little opening and hit her. I was nervous because I hit a little far back so I backed out and waited and hour. After my friend showed up we went in together and I had a really good blood trail. 80-90 yards later I looked up and there she was. My first deer. Thank you! I put a lot of hard hours into this deer. She will taste great!
