The Legend Lives On
Message:
Tuesday afternoon around 12:30pm is when I arrived at a spot I've never fished. Had waders on and setup was the 7'6" F&S Inferno/PENN Fierce 3000/Sufix 10 lb Tritanium. Made sure I had a number of FLR-10 with me.
Pretty soon on one of my first casts I get a hit. Landed a chunky 22" schoolie.
As the day went on I was setting the hook every 5 or so casts. Tried playing topwater with the SP-9 and XRW-9 but never got any swirls or explosions.
Closer to sunset is when I started getting into the bigger ones. 2 came off while taking line out and landed a 28" and 29" keeper. Once I had landed the 29"er and it was getting darker and more rainy, I decided to hit the road.
Total was 25 stripers all on the legendary Rapala Flat Rap FLR-10. Most were in the 20 to 25 inch range while a few were 18" and 3 were 27, 28, and 29. Both keepers weighed just under 8 pounds when I got home.
11/26/13 marks the first time I ever went home with my limit of keeper stripers.
