Local buddy and I hit the Housy in Derby for about an hour and a half Saturday night. Arrived at the O'Sullivans parking lot around 7:15pm. Setup was Star Rods 8' Aerial Surf/PENN Pursuit 5000/Sufix 17 lb Tritanium. Both of us played with a few plugs while he also tried throwing soft plastics. We fished 3 different areas which only resulted in me getting 1 hit on a pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-16. Other fishermen were there but all reported it being very slow with 1 getting 1 hit and landing a mid 20s schoolie. Recent rains had the river running good and it seemed like the rain and current might have pushed the fish down river.

The bite is usually more active towards the dam when the current is running.
