Once the rain had passed Wednesday afternoon I decided to head down to Remington seeing it was overcast, foggy, light wind, and damp, High tide was scheduled for 1:59pm and arrived around 3pm. Had my waders on and setup was the 7'6" F&S Inferno/Fierce 2000/10 lb Spiderwire Stealth.
Lures I played with included 1/2 ounce chartreuse bucktail, Berkley Subwoofer, pearl grey shiner Flat Rap FLR-10, spotted minnow Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, olive green Clackin Minnow CNM-9, yellow perch Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, and shad Skitter Pop SP-9.
When I first arrived and as the afternoon went on I saw many common mergansers, hooded mergansers, and red throated loons going underwater and feeding on small shiners and some type of crustacean.
I was surprised to not get a hit or see a flash even when I had the SXR-10 suspended. I thought seeing all those birds and the conditions meant there were stripers lurking.
Water temp in the harbor read 33.4 while the water coming from the discharge felt right around 40. Ice was not floating this time.
Hit the road around 6pm
