[quote:ec96bd4040="Crest Daddy"]I ask myself these same questions~!
Then I look on Google earth. Nobody is going to give up their spots...[/quote:ec96bd4040]
Lot's of folks come onto the site asking for info on fishing spots, to which many respond in similar fashion. I don't mind saying what body of water I'm catching on, or vicinity in the sound, but I'm not throwing out GPS coordinates of every structure I've marked. As CD suggested, use Google Earth. I STUDY it in all of the locations I fish. You can see channels, shallows, bars, learn where you will find currents, etc. It is an invaluable tool for fishermen. If you've never used it, give it a go. Oh, it can also help you locate access!

Or learn how to read a bathymetry map, very very useful. Also there are apps like navionics that help.

Loads of great apps available. The Navionics is a great, dirt cheap backup for my boat. It is more than serviceable in a pinch. NOAA had good stuff as well. I'm in the process of upgrading my electrical and electronics, and I will have a space to mount my iPad beside my Lowrance. I get accurate radar, lightening strike indicatos, tides, and much more.
